Build a Story

June 9-13

June 16-20

One week each; 1:00-3:30 pm

Location: Princeton Public Library, Princeton, NJ

Young writers in this camp will read books that involve building, observe and write about cool structures, build with legos, blocks, and found objects — all while writing about their thoughts, reactions, plans, and creations. They will use structures as settings for their own stories and will bind their resulting story into a book of their creation. Cost:$290/child (includes the cost of materials and a snack). Financial Aid is available. Please contact me for more information. Siblings receive a 10% discount.

Picture This!: An Inktopia Photo-Journaling Camp for Girls

Camp Dates: Monday, August 18-Friday, August 22, 2014

Time: 9:00 a.m. -12:00 noon

Place: Lawrenceville, NJ (graciously hosted by Sarah Vander Schaaff of The Educated Mom, the Official Blog of Mindprint Learning)

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then imagine how many stories, poems, and dialogues we can create from photographs you take! Please join other girls — young writers who are entering grades 3-5 — for Picture This!, a fun and creative photo-journaling camp. Every day, you’ll take photographs and write in response to your photographs and other images in our gallery. You’ll participate in inspiring activities and learn tips to help you as you journal. At the end of the week, you’ll create a portfolio of images and words that capture how you see yourself in the world. And you’ll take home new habits to help you write where you are, whenever you like.

Cost: $300/student. Includes all materials, photo printing, and a healthy snack. Students may bring their own digital camera if they have access to one (stand alone or on an iPad or phone). Otherwise, I will have cameras available for students who need them. 10% discount available for siblings. Financial Aid is available. Please contact me for information.

    • Hello! Thanks for following Inktopia Kids. Although the blog is for kids who write, many of the prompts can be great sources of inspiration for grown-up kids at heart! It is possible that we will be able to offer a grown-up writing camp on-line this summer. Stay tuned!
